Stewed Pears

A sweet dish, commonly served with gamey-meat or stewed meat.

Originally made by my grandmother, this recipe is my attempt to get as close as possible to this little treat.

Preparation

1. Peel the pears, and remove the cores.
2. Cut the pears into quarters.

Stewing

1. Put the pears in a pot.
2. Fill the pot with water until it covers all the pears.
3. Add the cinnamon.
4. Add the sugar.
5. Add the syrup.
6. Stir until everything is combined.
7. Let the pears stew until they are soft and have changed their color to a bright pink.
